I am a geophysicist obsessed with using data sience and machine learning applied to seismology, volcanoes and exploration geophysics.
I am a co-founder at Santa Cruz Geophysics, Inc. and also I am currently working as a postdoc scholar at UCSC.
My research interests are focused on using statistical analysis on larga data sets and using machine learning to understanding the behaviour of active volcanoes (especially when they are erupting), repeated large earthquakes in subduction zones and also the structural variations of permafrost close to active volcanic regions in Antarctica.
I recently got very interested in geothermal and geological carbon sequestration exploration using seismology and other geophysical methods and I am excited to keep learning about this.
I obtained my bachelors degree in geophysics engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2014 and my PhD degree from the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department of the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2021.
